Cash Forecast Consolidation

A practical consolidation architecture standardized fragmented forecast sources for import into an existing treasury management system.

Situation

A central treasury needed forecasts from trading platforms, external portfolio managers, a financial-instruments database, manually maintained reports, and an enterprise ERP. The sources were not standardized, and a separate consolidation platform was not economically practical.

GTP’s work

  • Designed a common architecture using client-approved technologies, including SQL Server, Excel, VBA, SFTP, directory services, and bulk-loading utilities.
  • Built and deployed file transformations with treasury users, database administrators, network engineers, and IT teams.
  • Structured testing, exception tracing, training, and cutover around a one-touch operating process, with selected workflows later moving toward automated imports.

Result

The treasury gained a standardized process for converting disparate forecast sources into consistently categorized files that could be reviewed and imported into its TMS.
